Description
ETHNIC2 reports the ethnic group of the respondent in condensed form. Respondents who are Hispanic or of Asian origin-descent in either ETHNIC or HISP are recorded as "some other race" in ETHNIC2.
Comparability
In 1965 and 1975 this information was collected based on the interviewer's observation. After 1975, respondents reported their own ethnicity.
